Title: Alexander R C Johnson - Cannot locate marriage or death
Post by: sirsimon on Wednesday 14 June 17 21:49 BST (UK)
Hi guys,

Hope you all are well

I am researching a small branch of my tree on the paternal side and I have a cousin named Alexander R C Johnson.

I am not sure what his middle names are, possibly Robert from his paternal grandfather and Carrick after his mothers maiden name.

Anyway, he was born in 1929 in Hartlepool, Durham, son of Alexander Johnson and Alma Carrick.

I would appreciate some help locating a possible marriage and death, nothing much seems to be coming up.

I am aware he could still be alive, but he doesn't even appear on the find my past censuses and surveys section. He might have moved aboard, but nothing comes up on familysearch, perhaps I am looking in the wrong places or his name might be incorrectly entered

thanks :)

May be a red herring, but try FindMyPast UK electoral registers 2002 - 2014. They have an Alexander R listed in Hartlepool, age range 65+. If that is him and he is still alive, you may have to ask for this thread to be removed.

I don't know how they calculate ages on the er's as we don't give our dates of birth when we register to vote.

His mother died in Hartlepool in 1980 and his father died in 1987 in Scarborough.

His mother Alma remarried to John R Payne in 1948

I can check the death index tomorrow to see if he's died since 2007.

If there's no obvious entry, I'll remove the topic in accordance with our 'no living people' policy.

Other than that a copy of his mother's will might be useful.

I know there is a no living person policy, so please remove if inappropriate.

Looks as if his mother did leave a will, which might show if he was alive in 1980

If his family is on the 1939 register but he isn't (e.g blanked out), it would also suggest that he is still alive. No specific details from the register can be posted.
