Hi all Mary Pollard Nee Hughes
I have searched Ancestry and Heritage for my father's ancestors for 6 years now to no avail.
If anyone has any information I would appreciate the help. I know Evan Hughes parents were Evan Hughes born 1884 and Elizabeth Ann Roberts born about 1881 in Swansea, Glamorgan, Wales . I got that from Dads Death certificate. I have all descendants from their 6 children, their children, grand children and yes some great grand children. But nothing before my grandfather. I am willing to help find anyone you need if i can. I am in South Australia Australia.

I just found that 1911 as well, looks like b 1879, but it's all in welsh can't understand a word ;D

No I havent They are both passed on now.
You are going to need to purchase the marriage certificate to be able to proceed with this. We can speculate as to who the family is but it could be wrong.

Pretty sure the 1911 is right as they have been married 7 years. 1901, 1891 and 1881 all possible.

I think i must of confused you all.
My father was Evan Hughes 1918
His father was Evan Hughes 1884
His father was Evan Hughes 1856
His father was Evan Hughes 1806
This was the information my father left me and i tend to think he should know, but finding it is hard. I did remember having an aunty Eirlys that has a daughter Glenys married to Phillip Stubb, i think still alive in Wrexham, UK LL137qf. i shall continue to look Thank you for your efforts.

I can understand that you think your father should know but did he get all of the certificates to back up this information. :-\ There are a couple of examples of Evan Hughes with father Evan that would fit what your father has given you date wise.
Based on the information you gave us ie your fathers parents were Evan Hughes & Elizabeth Anne Roberts and that Elizabeth was born Swansea the 1911 census which I am not allowed to give details on here seems to tie in with that information.
If you don't have the marriage certificate for Evan & Elizabeth Anne I think that you should be considering getting it to establish who their fathers were etc.
You need to remove details of Eirlys daughter and her husband from your post if they are still living.

I take it thats your fathers marriage cert. Do your grand fathers wifes name and the wives of the other Evan Hughes you mentioned. All the census's are in Welsh and it's difficult to work out which is the right one.

Going from that address in Wales I believe that it is very likely that Alun who I mentioned earlier born c1904 is your fathers brother.
He appears to have died in 1945

The only way for you to be sure is to buy the marriage certificate for Evan Hughes & Elizabeth Roberts though.
