I was browsing some mid to late 19th century military records. One soldier was treated on a few occasions for gonorrhea. For every illness or injury there the doctor filled out the cause. Often I have seen contagion given as the cause, but in this instance the doctor wrote "Obvious".
I suppose the doctor thought it was a silly question!

Hurworth, that's one of the things I enjoy about genealogy....some of the quips, it just makes me laugh.
I have a 2 x g g/mother who had errant ways & a Judge described her as 'The Terror of Watsonville' which was the area she lived in :o
