Title: Mo. in New York?

I am researching my ancester Ebenezer Young who is in the 1872 New York City Directory at
120 Chambers, h Mo.
I think this entry means he is working at 120 Chambers, which is in Tribeca, and that he also has
a house in Mo. Does anyone know where Mo. would be in New York?

I see a Daniel C. Young preceding him in the directory on the page above with the exact same listing for occupation & address.

There is a list of abbreviations for that directory here - http://www.rootschat.com/links/01k9v/ - but I don't see anything for Mo.

These directories often will put Do. for ditto when the person works and lives in the same place.  My suspicion is that the typesetter messed up and put an M for D.

Possibility??

His clothing business was in NY and he lived in St. Louis , MO....the MO being Missouri. ?

1870 census has an Eben as a clothing dealer born in NY living in Missouri.

Thanks for the replies. I had considered that Mo. might be Missouri, but it seemed too far away. I thought Mo. might be the abbreviation for a small district in New York state somewhere.
Daniel C appears in a partnership directory with Alexander & Thomas S Young in 1862, and they disappear when Ebenezer appears in the directory for 1869.

Looking at a couple of the directory pages, some "h" include
B'klyn - Brooklyn
L. I. - Long Island
N. J. - New Jersey
Ct. - Connecticut?

According to the 1874 book (link shown below):
Young Bro.'s & Co.
Thomas S Young, Daniel C Young and Eben Young belong to the firm.   Thomas lived in New York; Daniel was the manager in St. Louis.

Perhaps the company was started in New York and expanded to St. Louis?

William Young, born 1815 New York, died March 2, 1901 St Louis.
According to the site, he joined Young Bros.' & Co. but the business dissolved in 1868.  He apparently "learned the dry goods business in New York" and when he went to St. Louis he joined the Young business who were "wholesale dry goods merchants".
