Title: Gates/Keefe marriage
Post by: pwh on Saturday 24 June 17 03:31 BST (UK)
I am trying to trace the descendants of  Francis Gates, the brother of  Ann Norah Gates my  great
grand mother. He was born in 1843 in London. While i do not know who he married the
information i have is that his daughter  Annie born in 1880 married John James Keefe, born
in 1878 . They apparently had three children, John George in 1899, Thomas in 1903  and
Robert in 1909. Any assistance would be welcome.

I think you have them. The place of birth and the time line seems  to correspond
with what i know of him. Thanks very much.

1861 Thornly Place

Robert Gates 44 Shoe Maker 44 born St Giles
Bridget 38  born Ireland
Clara 19
Frances 17 this time as a daughter
Ann 13
Christopher 11
Mary 4  (1856 mother maiden name BOLIN)
Robert 3months (mothers maiden name BOLIN 1861)

Re the GRO they had a previous Mary born 1852 St Pancras and a Mary Ann Gates death recorded St Pancras age 2 in 1854

I think two families have been confused Francis was registered as Female and in 1861 she is female aged 17.
