Hi All

Can anyone please find a death for Louisa M Mackness nee Mansell born 1913 Cheltenham.

It just might give me the date of birth.

Could be in Islington.

Louise M Mackness, aged 29, Dec qtr 1942 London City looks possible (see FreeBMD).  Have you discounted her?

Father - Frank Mansell, Hairdresser
Mother - Phoebe Mary Mansell
Abode - 1 Railway Buildings, Norwood Road

If you can find her in the 1939 Register it should show her birthdate.  A quick free search suggests she may have been absent from home though.  I see she may have had a son in 1938 and apparently no more children - if that is right, might she have been incapacitated in some way as a result of his birth?

I will add that 1939 look up to my list for tomorrow. I was off to the records office but they don't open till Wednesday now(cut backs)but I can get it free at Leamington Library as well I just take my memory stick at get the image. I will also be able to get her husbands DOB of course.

I think Frank died 1980 aged 73. Death Reg. Dec 1980 Harlow 9 2506.

His wife Lena Grace Mansell born 25/1/1906  ???.Death Reg. Aug 1986 Harlow 9 2353.Aged 80.

I did find Albert Mackness in 1939 living alone but could not find Louisa Maud or her son Michael.

Michael Mackness was born in 1938 therefore he will most likely be one of those that their record is closed.

1939 says clearly Frank Born 27/5/1901 can't be right.

Albert is the only one living at that address.

Michael Died in 1953. So you would think he would be on the 1939 unredacted somewhere.

Albert went to New York in 1942,  after Louisa died I would think.

So Michael stayed with someone at the age of 4.

Did Michael die in England/Wales? (I can't see it registered in 1953)

If he was elsewhere (NY?) then maybe the 1939 Register was never updated with his death so those doing the redactions for publication treated him as possibly still living?

Although thinking about it might not be him.

Michael wasn't on the trip to New York with his father.

Ship, City of Exeter From Trinidad(port of Spain) 13/10/1942.

There is a Mrs A Mackness  of 16, Harthan Road, London. its not his mother her name was Beatrice.

I have just seen the Marriage Albert H Mackness to a Kathleen E Cashley June 1947 Reading 6a 280.

Albert Henry Mackness born 19/2/1915 died 1992 Plymouth. Same DOB as 1939.

Not sure why you're assuming Michael C Macanaspie is Michael Mackness ???

Michael C Macanaspie birth reg Dec qtr 1937 Shoreditch mmn Boorman.
