My cousin and I are trying to figure out who this woman is--I have the full photo of Julia Ann Belken, USA. and she has the head shot of the women. Could this be the same person? Any ideas if they are the same person?

It's a yes from me.

Certainly a strong resemblance in the shape of the face and the nose between the two photos. I would say either the same woman or very closely related.

A yes from me, too. Spruced up, head held high, one becomes the other. Cheers, Peter.

I would say no not at all .
Looks like the two Ladies are individuals.
That's how they look to me.

I think they are two different women.
Their noses, eyes and chin shapes are different.

Probably the same woman. You need to consider that the older woman has lost her teeth, so her jawline has lost some fullness due to that and age. I think even though she is looking up in one photo and down in the other, the nose shape is the same. The width of the nose is the same. You can see the start of the frown lines in the younger woman, that are more pronounced in the older one. The hair is parted in the same place and the hair line is the same in both photos (slightly off centre).
Although one is looking down and you can't see her eyes, I think the browline and pale eyebrows also point to it being the same woman.

It's a no from me.
The 1st. lady is older & this is Edwardian & possibly up to WW1.
The 2nd. lady is younger & this was taken late WW1 & into the 20's.

My initial reaction was a NO - sorry
maybe mother and daughter?

I checked my family tree and Julia was born 1835 in Beberstedt, Prussia and died in 1925 in Wisconsin.
She had a daughter in 1873 that died in 1942.
Maybe they are mother and daughte? Do those years line up?
Thanks everyone for helping us figure out who the photos are. I wish all old photos had names included on the back!
I appreciate all your thoughts!

Julia looks about 70-75 to me so that date fits with the date of the 1st.photo.
The 2nd. lady looks in her 40's & also fits with the date of the 2nd. photo.
