William James Flemming (b1872, d1936 in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire), married Margaret Annie Impey Bates (b1871 Northall) in Aylesbury in 1891. (Margaret, Annie, and Impey, are all given names; she and my father were second cousins). William James and his and Margaret's youngest son, Leonard Eric, traveled back and forth to South Africa in the 1920s and 30s. After William passed away in 1936, Leonard moved (in 1938) with his wife and children, a sister, and mother Margaret to South Africa. They were Leonard Eric Flemming (b1906 Leighton Buzzard); his wife Beatrice Nellie Child (b 1907 Leighton Buzzard, probably married in South Africa); children Joan Margaret (b1929 Coventry, Warwickshire), Sylvia Alice (b1930 probably in South Africa), Gwendoline (b1933 probably in South Africa), and Hugh S. (b 1934 Leighton Buzzard); sister Dora Agnes Flemming (b 1904 Leighton Buzzard); and mother Margaret Annie Flemming.
One paid website for South African data indicates that they have death records for Dora Agnes, and for Hugh S.
Any information on these Flemming family members in South Africa would be most welcome.

When you are next on GSearlym do you have the estate file for Margaret Annie Flemming ?
It mentions a son named Reginald Walter Flemming.

Sandy,
Thank you so much for your help. Yes, I have the 1929 travel record but not the estate file. Can't find that one yet. The family went to SAfrica, back to England, and then back to SAfrica where it appears they stayed. I'll follow your leads in a few days when I return home.
Best, GSearlym

Sandy,
I've hunted pretty voraciously, but can't find the estate record you mentioned for Margaret Annie Impey Bates Flemming, with son Reginald Walter Flemming. Can you point? Thanks so much.

Hi George.
Do you know when Margaret died.?
Sandy
-
No, I don't.
She departed in July of 1929 to South Africa with her husband, returned with Beatrice and Beatrice's children (Beatrice, wife of Leonard Eric) in Sep. of 1933; her husband died in England in 1936, and then she returned to Africa in April 1938 with Leonard Eric/Beatrice and family. That's the last record I have for her.
You mentioned Reginald Walter Flemming, son. There are census records for him with the family, and with his wife etc. It appears he stayed in England throughout all of this.
