Title: Sgt William Hayter 60th Regiment of Foot
Post by: handyman on Monday 03 July 17 19:47 BST (UK)
I am currently trying to find the marriage of William Hayter, born 1785 at Gillingham, Dorset.  He joined the Army in 1813 at Killarney and was posted to Camden Fort, Ireland, where his daughter Elizabeth was born in 1818.  He is later shown with wife Elizabeth who was born 1796 at Chowbent in Lancashire.  He could have married in Ireland, but it could have been elsewhere.  I am also putting out a feeler in Lancashire too. The marriage record 'may' confirm the name of his father which I believe to be Thomas, but could however be William. Any help in this direction would be most welcome.

You would be  better to keep to one forum, duplicate posts mean people can waste time duplicating research.

Thanks Jebber for your advice.
I also have issues with my Wilkins family at Stour Provost which I see is in your interest areas.  As you have gathered, I'm fairly new to Rootschat so do I discuss this with you on a new thread or though this one.
