Hi
I am looking for any information on William Rowland b 1872 Brighton. His parents and siblings I have ,but after the 1881 census I cannot find him. He was the son of George Rowland and Louisa Nealan, brothers George and Albert ,sister Mary.

Have you checked for a Military record? There's a brief record for a 17 yr old William Rowland, born Brighton, on FindMyPast, attested Jan 1891.

I was drawn to his occupation and the occupation of one of the members of the 1881 household.

Hi again, odd that on certain birth registrations Louisa uses mmn Godden ( Correct) and Nealan/Nealand ( Incorrect) and a largeish span between the Nealan/Nealand usage?!
When/where did her first husband die?

OK, but seems odd, also Henry Nealan from his Army records marries Mary Porter 28th June 1890 Parish Church of Fleetwood, he also names Louisa Nealan as his next of kin, what became of him?

PS Louisa was a Rowland when he signed up, his one campaign was the Nile Expeditions 1884/5

Its curious indeed, I appreciate you finding out these facts, as I haven't researched the half brother Henry Nealan (d) before. This is probably because I still havent found my great granddad's other siblings Frances (Fanny) and Albert

Thanks for the great information. The 1881 census is the source of the family information I have, the children to George Rowland and Louisa are, George, Mary, William,Frances and Albert. Mary I have found and now William, but not the others. I also cannot find the parents.
