I think it is post war, and not in the UK. They look to be wearing tropical kit, I think all the cap badges are RASC.

oooh ok, so related to the 1948 photo...making sense!

MaxD, as I know put it in the photo forum, would you mind casting your eye over it?

Yes at least 1940's -50's. Could be Gib. or possibly Malta but that was mainly RN.

Plenty of Army in Malta, at St. Patrick's, St. Andrews, St. George's and Tigne Barracks. I don't recognise the building, not that that means anything.

Good evening,
I would agree, all RASC and post ww2. To me the buildings look european rather than mediteranean or middle east ( Palestine).
I'm thinking post war Germany looking at the road and style of windows.

Had a look at the photo on the restoration thread. Could be same era, maybe Libya (we used to go there - had to take the pith helmets of course). Can't really say whether anyone is on the other pics.
Perhaps bring it across to this thread for others to look?

Will move it across tonight.
I was wondering if it was early...and Hong Kong, as the DCLI were there 1913/14 and we believe James Joseph was out there too. It could well just be India. But the men look like teenagers rather than "men".

Looks very like here - Cyprus.
Could be Limassol, Nicosia or Larnaca.
Note sharp crease in the trousers of the central soldier - it's been stitched in. There were many tailors/tailoresses here who altered uniforms in the early 70s so I would expect them to have been about in the 1940s/50s.
Check for yourself, just put Limassol old town in Google and hit images, plenty of photos to study. You can do the same for the other 2 towns.
:)
