There are far to many Arthur Clover's to check which is the right one.
I suggest you buy the marriage certificate, to check who his father was.

thank you very much, appreciated, Alan

Excellent Suz, thank you very much
-
there is a tree on A*****y which names Arthur Edward's parents as Charles William Clover & Alice King -but according to the marriage record this tree is not correct.
Wonder if they used the name Raynor-Clover??

The GRO Marriage indexes have Arthur as both Clover and Rayner-Clover in 1930 ;D

Parents seem to be Edward and Alice.
Edward born c1852 (Great) Stanbridge, Essex.
Alice born c1870 Silvertown.
Free 1911 index suggests they lived in Canning Town. Links to a Clover family look likely but not yet clear how they might be connected.
-
Alice may previously have been married to a Charles William Clover and had children with him who went with her into the relationship with Edward.
-
Charles William Clover married Alice King, Sep qtr 1889 West Ham.
Charles died Sep qtr 1901 West Ham, aged 37.
-
Edward (Charles) Rayner's wife appears to have been Eliza Jane Grimshaw, married Sep qtr 1884 West Ham.
She's not with him and their 11yr old son Edward in 1901, though he is supposedly still married.
If she was still alive when Edward got together with the widowed Alice Clover nee King, that may explain why they don't appear to have married.

Thank you Kgarrad, Avm228 and Suz
