Dear all
I wondered if any one can help me...I'm looking for a marriage between Elizabeth Parr (b.1811) & James Ponsford (b.1808) - I believe this happen around c.1835 in Dunsford, Devon.
James' parents were Henry Ponsford & Richord Bolt.

Thanks Kay - I don't suppose it says anything about the parents of the James that married Elizabeth Parr??

The 2nd Marriage for the James Ponsford in 1841 may be this James;

I can find 1 Child to James/Sarah a WILLIAM Bapt 8 Jan 1843 Dunsford.
Cant find them on Census though!

I can't see the James Ponsford who married in 1841 either in the census. I think the GRO birth index lists the 1843 bapt that Trish found as William Ponsford Dec Qtr 1842 ST THOMAS UNION DEVON Vol 10 Page 207 with mother's maiden name Somerville??

I am very confused here looking at Trees as some have James born Dundry, Somerset.
His Wife Elizabeth is down as several surnames.
A lot of Tree copying going on.
Some of these have this James Parents as the same you name.

I wonder if this is the James who married in 1841 and his age is mistake either on the census or marriage cert?? He is living at Holygate, Dunsford in 1841 and in 1843 the baptism of William Ponsford with parents James and Sarah lists the family as living at Holygate??

Hi Trish,
In your last message (25th July @ 13:50) is going down the right lines - I have James a being baptised on 18th Dec 1808 in Cheriton Bishop as well. I also have all those siblings for James as well - what I'm trying to find who James married?
As this line of my family might put to rest a story that my grandma has always used to tell me - that we are related to an Australian Cricket player called Bill Ponsford, who has a stadium named after himself....but we shall see?
If you have any news on this marriage that would be great.
Are you able to send me a copy of the marriage between Richard Bolt and Elizabeth Brewer.

Sorry I dont have a copy of the 1764 Marriage I only got it from Familysearch.Org.

If you look at Familysearch entry you will find all the details ie microfilm no etc so you can order it from a LDS centre.
