An absolute treasure has turned up in Folkestone, Kent (but could have come from anywhere)
A hard back photo album - looks like jumanji book, all hand painted around the photo, given as a present to Peter Charles Brachi on his 21 birthday from his cousins. The date being January 27th 1877 . I have attached the first page of a photo album. Can anyone help find his roots so to speak?
Many thnaks

How beautiful it is.
Here he is in 1871 https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VB6V-4VK with a Neely connection which helps.
In 1881 he is Tobacco manufacturer.

According to the London Freedom of the city Admission Papers, his grandfather Charles Francis Brachi was a native of Turin and arrived c 1800.
-
Looks like Charles, Maurice & Philip all served WW1. Officers of course.
They all survived.

Worth looking for the surname on social media? Only Ethel's descendants would not have the opportunity of the Brach[c]i surname surviving.

Hi - my name is Anne Doyle and my brother David and I have been doing research on my mothers side of the family “Brachi” our grandfather was Charles Clarence Brachi and Maurice Brachi was our uncle.
It’s been a while since I have googled the Brachi name but I decided to do that this evening and your discover popped up. Incredible!!’ I would love to know more about it. The Brachis came from Turin and our ancestor arrived in London around 1810. It’s a wonderful history but over the last few years we have come to a dead end and this photo album might open up a new world. Thanks for posting this enquiry. It’s very exciting. All the best. Anne

What a lovely outcome. Amazing how things can turn up unexpectedly.

Well it’s amazing what you have done. My brother lives in Ireland and periodically goes over to England. Any chance he could visit this. Thanks a lot. Anne

Good heavens, I have only just caught up on this thread after being offline through illness for over a year. Well I am so pleased that I have found some family that is related to Mr Brachi ! The album was found by my nephew so I will go visit him in a few days and see what is in it and get back to you! Sorry for the delay.

"Offline for over a year...." :'( Gosh, you must have been horribly poorly.
So glad you are on the mend at last. :-*
