Hello,
Eliza was born in 1847, in Cambridge. Parents James and Eliza. Interested in church baptised at.
Thanks,
Adam
-
Have you found her on census in 1851 - the parish she was living in at the time may give a clue.
-
On the 1861 census it was St. Andrew's the Less, like her future husband.
-
Eliza married at St Paul's Cambridge her address was 35 Union Road - father James a shoemaker.
James & Eliza were in Union Road in 1851
ADDED James & Eliza married at St Andrew the Less
-
Thank you very much for that. Which district is Union Road?
-
If you mean parish St Andrew the Less. I have just added to my last post re James & Eliza.
-
Thanks.
-
some SAL transcripts are online but I can't see baptisms for any of the children.
Sometimes children are baptised in the mothers home parish (Swavesey :-\ ) My grandmother was born/lived in Cambridge but was baptised in a village nearby where her mother grew up
-
Ah that makes sense. It may just be that the record isn't immediately available.
-
Or they may not have been baptised
-
Yes, potentially.
-
I have had a look at the St. Andrew the Less parish transcripts and St. Mary the Less, St Botolph's,
St Andrew the Great and St Benedict.
Also the villages Soham and Swavesey.
No luck, possibly as rosie99 says - no baptism.
-
Thanks for all that - looks like she wasn't baptised. Her husband was, but her children weren't.
