Title: Horstman - deaths in Brooklyn, NY?
Post by: Erato on Sunday 30 July 17 16:27 BST (UK)
I am looking for the deaths of Henry [Harry] Horstman and Sadie Irene [Ashton] Horstman, probably in or around Brooklyn, NY.  They are on the 1940 US census in Brooklyn.

Henry was supposedly born in New York in about 1876.
Sadie Irene Ashton was born on 17 October 1880 in Brooklyn.

Thanks, Sandra and hanes teulu.  I was aware of the newspaper articles - they seem to have been an accident prone family.  Lillian was the wife of Sadie's uncle James Ashton.

There were several Henry Horstmans around New York in that time period.  I'm not sure which is the correct one but I lean towards the Henry D. who you mentioned.  I haven't found their marriage which seems to have occurred about 1920 - 1925.  Sadie had been previously married to George F. Reid who disappeared [dead? divorced?] sometime before 1920.  They had one son, George A. Reid.
