Finally i have found my 2nd great grandmother and her sister. Mary and Elizabeth Kelly!Mary born in Dublin 1831, Elizabeth born in Lauceston 1836. I believe there mother must have been transported here before Elizabeth was born (she was soon adopted out). Could someone tell me the best way to look up Lauceston records to find where their mother was in Lauceston (prison/poorhouse) maybe? Also maybe which ship she was transported on ? Thanks

What was their mother's name?

Where did you find the 1836 birth?

No we dont have a birth certificate for Elizabeth Kelly, nor a first name for her mother - just know the last name was Kelly and she was from Dublin. Have slowly been breaking down brick walls with this one. Elizabeth was adopted to a Elizabeth Goldsmith (who had been in a poorhouse in Lauceston)she married John Fowler. The adoption was 1836 , her name became Elizabeth Fowler but in latter years, she referred to herself as Elizabeth Kelly again.Have found her family thru dna - and they have no original birth cert for her, but we would all like to find one.

Where and when did this marriage take place? Reading the quote again...who married John FOWLER?
Did Elizabeth KELLY/FOWLER aka Betsy marry and where did she die?
Have you been able to identify her sister Mary's parents from any certificates eg her death certificate. Her marriage was a parish record.

Yes, those are part of my searchings for these girls above, which i have now made headway on.Elizabeth Goldsmith (Betsey Kellys adopted mother) married Fowler 1835 Tasmania. Elizabeth Fowler married John Rees 1852 Geelong. No there are no birth mothers names on any document the family has found, hence we are looking for that.
