Title: John Corby
Post by: patricia backman on Tuesday 08 August 17 00:58 BST (UK)
Hi, A few weeks ago someone kindly found a John Corby for me.  I was sent two paper cuttings of him being drunk and fined and also his death.  However when I was able to get his death certificate I found that this John Corby was an Irishman.
My John Corby came to Australia in 1852 on the "Priam" aged 24 with his wife Mary aged 16.  They made their way to Kyneton and then he disappeared.  He was born in Fleet, Lincolnshire.
I have been told by the lady from the Kyneton Cemetery that there were a lot of Corby's in the area at the time, most of them Irish.
Thankyou,
Patricia Backman

I found this which seems a possible fit although the age is a few years older. This could be an error though. It also says female but once again may be a mistake.

Yes, I am looking for his death if possible or what he did after he deserted Mary.  Perhaps he died in the goldfields, I have no idea.

Thankyou for the news on John Corby in Tasmania.  I did my mathematics and my John would have been 65 when this young man died.
