Title: John Irving
Post by: cupcake on Tuesday 08 August 17 09:51 BST (UK)
I am looking for the parents of John IRVING going by the information on his headstone he was born abt.1782.
John was married to Isabella CARLYLE and lived in Dalton. I have all the information except for John's parents.

Was at the library and found one birth - John Irving b. 1783 son of John - Hoddom - could this be the one.

I am wondering if John IRVING's father may have been Thomas IRVING as he named his first son Thomas

any information would be very much appreciated.

I wet onto the wiki tree site and  the mouse over John IRVING and lists his children which are the correct ones. Also gives John’s date and place of birth.

So, it would appear his father was John IRVING and mother Unknown (Morrison) IRVING.

Thank you for your help.

Hello cupcake,
I am John Irvine's (1783) great great grandson, and I was very pleased to see that someone had finally found his parents, something I and other Australian and New Zealand Irving Family researchers have been trying to find for decades, so it was very pleasing to see.

I was also very interested to read you had found the information at the library - I am very interested in knowing which library, and finding out if there is any other information on John's parents.

Can you please help me?

Thank You,

Richard Irving
