Title: Wharton family of Orton
Post by: GenesA on Thursday 10 August 17 16:17 BST (UK)
I have a James Wharton who married Mary Spooner at Asby in 1760. They baptised all their children in Orton and I have several of their children still living in Orton by the 1841 Census. Does anyone know where I can access the burial records for Orton? I would like to find the burials of both James and Mary.

Thanks  :)

Hi
I'm also descended from these two but sorry don't have their deaths. I have their son James will and his son James will plus family details from further down the line if they are of interest to you. I've also searched Orton graveyard in vain for any James Wharton.

Orton and Tebay local history society have transcribed the grave stones at Orton. There are not any early James Wharton, earliest being James 1864 ,a grandson.

Have you looked for any Wills from the Wharton Family around that time?
