Title: Edith where is she?
Post by: Suzy W on Wednesday 30 August 17 02:09 BST (UK)
Oh my goodness I just stumbled across another possible sister to my grandfather, I never knew about.
Edith May Tew born 1888 to Tom and Annie Tew born Waltham.
Begs the question what happened to her?  Had she died before 1891 as she is not with the family while they were living in Hertfordshire, nor 1901 census.
Any death records for Edith in Essex thanks.

Thank you ;)
Always a surprise to find another soul that is not added to the family, sadly this little girl was not known about for many years, my lucky find today.  Now she has her rightful place.

No wonder you didn't know about her ... no mention of children who've died on 1911. Strange.

They also had another son born 1903 and died 1904 in Leicestershire, no say about his death in 1911 census either.
My great grandfather could read and write, so it does make me wonder, why they never wrote of the two children that died?
Little Edith would of been named after Annie's sister.

Strange indeed. My dad had a brother who died before he (my dad obviously) was born. My nan would never talk about him. He drowned in the family pond. Maybe the circumstances of the death were too upsetting. Strange not to put it on an official document though.
