Just found that my wife has ancestors born in Runcorn. Sent for the birth certificate which we received today. Place of birth given as Brick Croft, Runcorn, but I have been unable to find where this is. Does anyone have an old map of Runcorn from 1840-1850 and can find it for me

There is Stone Croft on the 1876 map.
https://www.old-maps.co.uk/index.html#/Map/350953/382754/13/100102 Brick Croft could have been renamed. There are references to Stone Croft in the old newspapers, but none for Brick Croft.

if it is - looks like she married in to money - her father in law is a "Gentleman "

Unfortunately they don't seem to be in Runcorn in the 1841 census.
