As you have both their actual dates of death - have you contacted the records office direct to see if they can help?

What were their birth dates?  The only John Lewis death in March qtr 1960 Carmarthen had no middle initial and was born around 1898

There is no death for a Laura Lewis in the December qtr 1967 in Carmarthen

Hello Damian,

John Isaac Lewis of Uplands, Swansea was buried in Llandeilo Fawr Parish Church on 15 March 1960.
Transcription says Manordeilo but image says Llandeilo Fawr. Burial images only go up to 1966, but Laura Jane Lewis does die in Dec quarter 1967 in Swansea. Presume she would be buried with her husband in Llandeilo.
Regards,
Rhosgoch

Yes, it is the Church in the centre of Llandeilo - St Teilo's Church.

John Isaac Lewis's address is given in the burial entry for St Teilo - 37 Cambridge St, Uplands, Swansea. He came home for burial.

I am not related to John Isaac Lewis, and as I said his address is given in the Church burial record.

I have no idea if there is a gravestone, but at least you now know which church graveyard to search.

Regards,

Rhosgoch

I am currently working on a project, for a chapel in the Swansea area and in this instance the location, by burial ground, row and number within the row of most (but not all!) of the graves is recorded in the chapel's burial register.  Maybe contact with the church officials prior to your visit might be a worthwhile exercise.
