I am trying to find out more about a Jane G Robinson that married Barnabus Woodhouse Waters (1891 - 1939) in 1924 in Gateshead, Durham.
However I am unable to find any reliable links for her birth or death?
Can anyone help?

Do you have her marriage certificate please? That would give her father's name and enable you to find her with more certainty in 1911 census.
She may not have been born in Gateshead.

No sorry, was hoping I would not need to order a marriage certificate, but looks like it may be the only way at the moment. I hoped that because it have an initial for her middle name it might crop up but it hasn't.

Also there is a John Robinson Waters ;D
Plus 4 more people and 2 who are officially closed.
FreeBMD is showing 8 Waters births in County Durham, with a mother's maiden name of Robinson.
Including a John R Waters in 1925.

Barnabus Woodhouse Waters baptized South Shields 27 Dec 1891 son of Thomas/Sarah Ann Waters.

Possibly a red herring, but the use of mother's maiden name as middle name for a daughter is apparently a Scottish custom. Maybe mum was a Scot?

And not always mother's maiden name - in my tree it tends to be maternal grandmother's maiden name ;D

Yes I figured that too! I have found an incoming passengers record in 1915 for Jane Gordon Robinson with her mother and siblings coming back from Quebec, Canada. Can't actually see a record for them going outwards, I am wandering where the father is at this point?! \
I also can't find any record of this family in the 1901 or 1911 census (presuming they may be in Canada in 1911)

It might be worth trying to contact them to see if they have the 1902 M/C.

You can see the image of the 1911 Canada Census on the Library and Canada Archives site -the surname has been transcribed as Roberson. John Robinson is a miner and the year of emigration is given as 1908.

So if you get the 1902 M/C of John Robertson/Jane Gordon you are well on your way to finding more on your Family Tree.
Without that there are so many Robertson/Robsons around it will be hard to find the right John/Jane in 1901 Census etc.
