As one of my research hobby horses is the consanguineous (cousin) marriage I picked up this rather intriguing marriage record from Corby:
On September 4th 1826, between Thomas Glithero, bachelor and Sarah Glithero, spinster.
Witness to the marriage: Jeremiah Glithero
Throughout subsequent census returns (1851 - 1881) Sarah always entered her place of birth as Seaton, Rutland.
I have traced Thomas' line in Northamptonshire back to about 1720 and as far as I can tell, Jeremiah isn't in his direct line. I have also traced Jeremiah in the Corby / Great Oakley line back to about 1720 and haven't come across him being in Rutland or having a daughter / sister named Sarah.
Similarly searches of available Rutland records on line have drawn a blank.
Are there any local Parish Records which might help here?
Many thanks - Alan
(One small point: this surname does suffer from spelling variations; both beginning with a G or a C, and ending with an added e or w.)

There is a Sarah Glithers born 1789 baptised at Ketton ( about 7 miles away from Seaton) parents Robert and Catharine

Thanks for the tip - I'll look into that. I have seen one in a string of census returns transcribed as Glithers
