That article was dated 07 June 1902 .  There are a several newspapers carrying the story but it looks as though he was detained at his Majesty's pleasure I have not read them all to see if the location is mentioned

Thanks Rosie99, is it possible to send me a link to the article please? I already have the one from 1902 about the trial but can't find anything regarding the sentence given & if it was Dorchester or another place

Hi there

I know the post was a while ago, but have you found him in the 1911 census? If you have not, look under his initials, place and date of birth and he is in a well known Asylum (most probably him). Listed as a widower.

Regards Heather

Thanks for replying Heather, haven't had chance to go back to library and check 1911 yet. Had trials on FindMyPast & ancestry, can't decide which one to sign up for. If you get a chance could you look at Frank for me? His dob 1870 semley, mother Frances or Fanny & father was Alfred. Thanks
