Hello
Edward McGuinness
1837–1913
Birth 1837 • Cormeen, Meath, Ireland
Death 26 JAN 1913 • Loughan, Moynalty, Kells, Meath, Ireland
Edward married Bridget Bradl(e)y in cormeen 14th July 1867. I have the marriage and all of the children that followed.
I need help looking for Edwards Mcguinness 1837 parents and siblings please can you help?
Thanks
Bernie

He was rather handsome though ;D
-
You have his marriage so what was his father's name and his religious donomation?
-
I don't have his fathers name, that's what I asked in my original question. I have his marriage date and his religion is Roman Catholic. I would appreciate the help.
Thanks

I don't see a Civil cert, I guess from what you saying the church record doesn't have parents. I wonder if RootsIreland has the marriage, they sometimes have more information than the NLI version.
-
Cormeen appears to be in Moybologue parish and their baptisims only start 1867

It doesn't look like any earlier records survive.

Not sure there is anywhere to go, in which parish did the marriage that place?

Apparently Edward married Bridget Bradl(e)y in cormeen 14th July 1867!!
but IF I have the correct register, the marriage isn't there because it starts 1868 for marriages.

Must be a record somewhere as poster has it....
-
That's why I asked :D
-
Here is the certificate unfortunately no info on it.

IF you assume she was 21 when she married.... then you can look for baptism
http://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000635086#page/35/mode/1up and work back/forward from there!!

That's the Church record, I was hoping there would be a civil cert but the marriage doesn't appear to be registered. It should be in Kells District but there appears to be only 14 marriages for the entire year registered.
-
I see their first child Bridget was born in Cormeen and Edward is a Tailor.
So Carnaross is more than likely where Bridget is from but possibly not Edward.
-
Just noticed there are two Cormeens. (sorry I missed it the first times I looked)
There are two Mcguiness in the Applotment books in Cormeen in 1827 a William and a Charles
and the Civil Parish is Moynalty so I had a look at the RC Parish of Moynalty and there is a Cormeen listed there as well.

This baptism register starts 1830.
and even better there is a William McGuinness living in Cormeen Moynalty in Griffith's Valuation

Thank you sinnan. So which one do you think is Edwards father ? William or Charles? Thank you for the help, I am going to search It all later today. That is really good of you to find it, sorry it was an awkward one.

Possibly neither?
You would still need to find a Baptisim for Edward, and as there is no parents names on the marriage you still wouldn't be 100% sure it was the correct Edward.
-
I will go through all mcguinness's and take it from there.
Thanks again for your help. DNA matches are ok, but are only as good as the tree they have. I have all these Mcguinness DNA matches and the one family I am looking for is proving hard to find.
