Hi
Not a family history question. More of a curious wondering really. My house backs onto an unadopted lane in Abenbury; Frog Hall Lane. Does anyone know if Frog Hall actually existed. I have found it on an old map. There was a cottage there, now extended into larger house. Was there an old hall there at some point? I can't find anything online about it.
Thanks
Elaine

Hi,
I will ask my friend, I bought her a book a few years ago of all the old houses in Wrexham.

I don't know if this relates to the same place, but it's an interesting read anyway ;D

Hi, I had a look in my friends book......
"Lost Houses in Wrexham"
Frog Hall as a house is not listed, sorry.
I will be away for 10 days on Wednesday, when I come back I will go into the Museum in Wrexham and have a look at the maps from before 1900, as no results when I search the census for Frog Hall or FH House.
There is a ruin on the old Wrexham road, I looked at a map for 1887 and saw the house, so I got the name, so it's worth a try.

Not an exact location, but there is a Frog Hall named in this article. Bottom of page .RH side.
PREPARING FOR CHRISTMAS. CLEVER CAPTURE OF TWO THIEVES.
Also a search for "Frog Hall" turns up a few other local articles, but there are places with the same name elsewhere.
