Title: Toronto Marriages 1930
Post by: grlune on Saturday 09 September 17 17:37 BST (UK)
Greetings from England  :)

Can SKS let me know if these marriages are searchable yet online or available for public viewing in record centres?

I have been trying for a number of years as I thought they would be available after the 80year rule but I am still looking ::)

TIA

Graham

Hi ..

An...y says its Ontario marriage collection covers the years from 1785-1935. I don't have a current sub.

From Archives of Ontario
http://www.archives.gov.on.ca/en/access/documents/pathfinder_marriage_registrations.pdf

1930 marriages are on MS 934 Reel 28
http://www.archives.gov.on.ca/en/microfilm/v_mi_t.aspx

You can also check Toronto newspapers... the Toronto Star has an online archive (paid site)
http://pqasb.pqarchiver.com/thestar/search.html

This database is free at many libraries (not sure about the UK ones).

Ancestry has up until 1928 and then 1933 and 1935.  Not sure why the gaps.

Not sure if you have this but in Canadian Voters lists there is a Richard Leach, watchman, with wife Charlotte at 50 Morse Street, Toronto in 1949 and again in 1957 at same address but Richard is shown as retired.
