Name Margaret Jane Doey Dowie
Birth 23 Aug 1886 - Belfast, Antrim, Northern Ireland
Death Mar 1973 - Coventry, Warwickshire, England
Hi I am looking for anyone who may have my great grandmother in their family tree to try and help locate other family members especially my great aunt Lily who was one of Margarets daughters.
Ancestry.com says she features in 22 other trees so someone must be out there ?

If she is on 22 Ancestry trees have you tried contacting the owners? If you are lucky a few will get back to you.

You can only contact them if you are a subscribed member and the problem is the cost of joining as they take a large lump sum so trying as many other avenues as possible like FreeCen and FreeBDM, Irish Archives. and forums etc.

Thank you - that is her. I am really struggling to find anything for her daughter Lily born in Belfast. I do not have a date but she died in Coventry in the 2000's. Can not find anything for her at all. Family all know her as Lily. Her brothers were James (stayed in Belfast), Derek (died in Coventry) and Norman (died in Coventry) and sisters Agnas (stayed in Belfast) and Isobella (also moved to Coventry).

Think Lily might actually be Elizabeth, judging by 1939 census. From the free search there's an Elizabeth Mullan b 1916 in Margaret's household

Thank you aghadowey - it is the same family.
We are now looking for more information for Isabella Mullan born June 1908. She was sister to Lily (Elizabeth) and Daughter of Margaret. I can not find a marriage for her based on the information from our family. The family thought that she had married someone with the surname of Apsly and had two sons Billy and Freddy possibly in Coventry.
We are also trying to establish when Margaret Mullan (Dowie) moved from Belfast to the UK Coventry. As far as we are aware the eldest children James and Agnas stayed in Belfast and Margaret brought Isabella, Lily, Norman and Derek to the uk. We think it was between 1923 and 1939 as they are on the 1939 register in coventry and Derek was the last child to be born in Belfast before they moved. Her husband did not come with her and no one in the immediate family seems to know why.
As always any help is really appreciated.

If you look for Isabella born 30 June 1908 in the 1939 register you will find her in Coventry with her husband. Surname you gave is almost correct - just add an 'e'.

Can't see a marriage or the birth of any children, however freebmd have a possible marriage for Billy ( William J) in Coventry in 1952.

Isabella Frances Franey died in Coventry in May 1997. 1939 register confirms that Isabel Apsley subsequently married a Franey and the date of birth on death entry tallies with Isabella's 1908 birth certificate on irishgenealogy.ie ( i.e. 30th June 1908).

After talking to other members of the family it now looks like James and Margaret had 3 more children and some possibly between 1911 and 1914 - I do not have any first names. They have possbily died young as some of the family are completely unaware of them. Can anyone offer any advice as to how I may be able to find out their details.
