I have a Gertrude Mansell born 1887 Aston.
I have a marriage at Middleton 22/7/1912 Gertrude Ellen Mansell to Henry John Robert Garrod (his father same name)
Gertrude's father given as William and a witness Louisa Mansell(she does have a sister Louisa.
I cannot find either after the marriage. What happened to them.

Henry was 25 when he married in 1912 so I suppose it could be hima few years different.
I did make a note of Henry Cecil 1913 and Ellen Frances Winifred 1916 that I thought could be but the Holborn one I'm not sure.

widow died 31/12/1957
I did a while ago make a note of Died 1957 aged 79. Death Reg. March qtr 1958 Ploughley 6b 1207.
The age of that was wrong.
then I had another note 1951 & 1955 electoral register 19, Conigar Rd, Fulham.

The Probate one she left her money to Basil Pearson Garrod(local goverment officer) I looked his birth up 1909 mmn Dent.

That looks promising. I tried to find her in the 1939 under Garrod but I might find her tomorrow under Williams. I will have a look. The thing I don't get is when her birth was reg. it was just Gertrude no sign of Ellen. Now she as dumped the Gertrude and is calling herself Ellen.

Maybe she did not like to be called Gertrude /Gert /Gertie and preferred Ellen. She still retained Gertrude as her middle name

I have been trying to find a birth for Henry John Robert Garrod somewhere in England but haven't found one yet he said he was 25 in 1912. I have searched from 1880 to 1888 must be spelt wrong somewhere I was after his mother's maiden name. Even his father had the same name cant find him either.
