This photograph of my Russian aunt Vera was taken in 1940 at the Bolshoi School just before she was removed to Germany as slave labour.
That experience she survived - she is still alive at 92 and I would like to present it to her better looking than it is now. I don't mind the slightly 'fuzzy' look - it softens the image.

Another one that's a bit different.

Wow! You guys never fail to amaze me. :o
japeflakes, you might call it a 'light touch' but compared to the one I posted, it's perfect.
Handypandy and Peter - what can I say? They say that 'necessity is the mother of invention' - well there was no need, but you both invented something extraordinary.
Thank you all so very much! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

It's always a pleasure to work on something for you, Alistair.
Cheers, Peter.

Another. The background of the school was taken in the 1950s; hopefully it hadn't changed much from the way it looked when Vera was there.
Cheers, Peter.

One of my daughters trained and performed as a ballet dancer so I couldn't resist having a go at this one :)
I think the photo is wonderful as it is so I've just cleaned it up. There's not enough detail to show what was on the backdrop so I just removed what was left because it didn't add much and was a bit distracting.
