Hi,
for a very long time now, i have tried to do as much research as i can on William Roberts.
his gravestone is in St Marys, Conwy and when i received his death certificate it said his father is John Roberts? now if i've researched this correctly, his family are -
John Roberts 1812 (Dad)
Mary Roberts 1812 (Mum)
Thomas Roberts 1844-1921 (Brother)
& then there was William 1846-1862.
i can't find where his family are buried at all? he is buried by himself and i don't think any of his family are buried in the same church.
please PLEASEEE can somebody help me, surely there has to be someone in this world who knew this family? i have attached williams gravestone to this post.
THANK YOU x

When did his parents die?
i don't know, i don't know the years of when they died or where.
i do know they lived on Water Street, Bangor for a few years and then on Mount Pleasant, Conwy for a very long duration afterwards?
thank you,
Lauren

There are a couple of death possibilities for John but his birthyear differs to the one shown on the 1871 census.
1851 - 1813
1861 - 1812

Hi
Was there a card with the flowers?
Or, were the flowers yours?

Would they have been the exact years? William died in 1862 and John had been on Williams death certificate so I know he was definitely alive from 1812/13 to 1862 .. :(

If you check freebmd for deaths 1871-1881 in the Conway registration district there are several. However with the 5/6 year difference in his birth year in 1871 that throws in more possibilities.
Have you asked the cemetery what year the headstone was erected? It looks in remarkably good condition for an 1862 burial and I wondered if it had been installed long after his death perhaps by another family member. I also wondered at the absence of any mention of his parents on it. Clearly not because of cost in view of the inscription.

I'll have to do some research on that when I get in! I have noticed that on some sites the birth year is a couple of years off to what I've originally seen! So that doesn't help sometimes.
I've been in loads of contact with the vicar at the Conwy church but his information is limited due to how long ago this was? Is there someone apart from the vicar who would know when the headstone was put on etc? And exactly! It's such a big headstone with only the top half with an inscription but then no other family written on it :(
