Hi there, I wonder if anyone can please help me with some sideways searching of an ancestor's siblings please.
My ancestors Nathaniel Vaughan and Elizabeth Reese married in Woolwich in 1781 and had the following children all baptised in Woolwich:
1. Nathaniel Vaughan (1783–1784)
2. John Vaughan (1784–?)
3. Nathaniel Vaughan (1786–1861) [my ancestor]
4. Elizabeth Vaughan (1789–?)
5. Mary Vaughan (1790–1792)
6. Thomas Vaughan (1792–?)
7. Enoch Vaughan (1794–?)
8. Caroline Vaughan (1795–?)
9. Sarah Elizabeth Vaughan (1797–1797)
10. Eneas/Enos Vaughan (1799–1886)
11. Frances Vaughan/Wilson (1801–aft 1841)
According to this website http://www.websuite.co.uk/coefamilytree/ind321.html the following is known about Nathaniel Vaughan (c1753/8-1833):
'Nathaniel started work at Woolwich Shipyard as a Warder on 16 Nov 1780 and retired as a Shipwright in 1821. In September 1802 he was noted in the List of Artificers as being aged 45, married with seven children.'
Now I have not been able to work out where Nathaniel was from or who his parent were, but this post is actually about his children.
In 1802 it is apparently known from this List of Artificers that seven of his children were with him, however what happened to them is not known.
Of these seven, three are presumably Nathaniel, Eneas/Enos and Frances as later records for them have been found. However the only records I have found for John, Elizabeth, Thomas, Enoch and Caroline are their baptisms.
I would like to try and find out what happened to these five other siblings, so if anyone can please help me establish this, I would be most grateful.
