Hi,
Having trouble with finding the death certificate for Emilia/Amelia
Fraser maiden name McIntosh.
Married to John Fraser b. 1791 in 1815
Mother of Archibald Fraser born 1816
He passed away in 1867 in Cawdor
with his wife still living.
Hit a bit of a wall perhaps due to spellings of Emilia or Mcintosh.
Could anyone point me in the right direction?
-
Hi
There is a death in Cawdor for an Amelia Fraser/McIntosh in 1873.Ref 122/14. Her age is given as 81.
William

Thanks for the pointer. Exactly what I was looking for

Welcome to Rootschat.
You should be right to message now, or may need one more post.
The only 1791 birth I see has mother as Anna:
FRASER John SIMON FRASER ANNA MCINTOSH 24-5-1791 128/B 20 194 Cromdale and Inverallan
Is this where he was born?
-
I have this for John, 10 Jan 1791 • Migovie, Boleskine and Abertarff, Inverness-shire, Scotland. On his death certificate it has his parents names
but her name is often spelt differently
Sometimes its Bella Macdonald or Isobel McDonald
-
John Fraser was born 10th January 1791 in Boleskine & Abertaff district to Simon Fraser (Farmer) and Isobel or Bella McDonald.
Not had much luck finding a farm or death certs yet.
Any help is appreciated guys

I have John's death certificate. Some census pages he was a stone Mason, not sure I know how to post them here. I am on ancestry
-
It lists him a Dyke builder which I imagine is part of the masons trade.
I'm descended from Alexanders brother Archibald Fraser whos D.Cert also lists John as a mason.
-
Did you ever find Amelia's death cert?
-
The one I have I'm fairly sure is correct.
21 July 1873 in Clunas but nowhere closer on finding her father Alexander Mcintosh listed as a Chelsea Pensioner
-
That's the same one I have, I have been searching for Simon and Isobel, nothing I can confirm.

Hi Jso27
My name is Sandra Macdonald and I wrote to you last year regarding the death certificate for Amelia Mackintosh. I let you know that I had a copy. I was wondering how you were going with the family history, and I was also wondering how you fitted into the family history of John and Amelia Fraser (nee Mackintosh). Hope to hear from you.
Kind Regards
Sandra
