Title: The Great Storm of 1703

Some while ago when trawling Dorset Parish Records, I read jottings in the register of some of the effects of that storm. Now, being currently more interested, i have tried to find those accounts again but without success. If anyone knows of these and can put me back to them, I would be very pleased.

Could have been in almost any parish in the Southern half of England?

True, but these were definitely in Dorset. Some of the more likely parishes make no mention.

The Church of England declared that the storm was God’s vengeance for the sins of the nation.

So likely to be written down by the more evangelistic type priests?

It seems to have affected much of the south of England.
