Title: Manchester Maps
Post by: uk2003 on Friday 06 October 17 15:03 BST (UK)
Been a long time since I have done any map hunting.

Does anyone know of any online Manchester maps that gives the house/property numbers on the roads or just some numbers?

I am trying to locate the positions of two properties 142 & 160 Marlborough Road, Hightown (Cheetham Hill area) circa 1910 onwards.

Cheers
Ken

Can't access my maps right now but can tell you the 158 to 160 was the Salvation army barracks on the North east side of Marlborough Road & at the corner of Marsland street, Hightown. Inbetween Rostron street & Marsland street.

142 was a shop, it had been a greengrocers owned by Samuel Harris 1909 to 1913
It was inbetween Fildes street & Rostron street.

This 1952 map shows the house numbers, assuming they have not been changed https://www.old-maps.co.uk/index.html#/Map/383660/401106/13/101329
Change the zoom level

Hi Stan

Again many thanks for the link and time looking for me.

For the first time, we have now pin pointed these properties and it makes it even easier with one of them opposite the Duke Pub, will be having a drive down tomorrow I think.
