I am hoping to verify a transcription error:
1851 Census St Austell
Name Age
Jane Mincer 50
William Mincer 26
John Mincer 21
Edward Mincer 17
Mary Ann Mincer 11
In 1841 the family name was transcribed as Mincer also.
I think it is the family of William Minear and Jane ( Guy).
William Minear died 1832.
I have not been able to find a bpt. for Mary Ann Mincer/Minear bC1840.
I have found that Jane Minear was the mother of a base daughter Mary Hancock Minear bpt. 6 Apr 1834 , so must consider the possibility that Mary Ann was also a base child.
Can anyone please help by validating the above particularly with regard to Mary Ann Mincer/Minear?
Mary Hancock Minear married my William Henry Harry 1853 St Austell. They came to Australia in 1864.
With thanks.

From image of Census in 1841 the name is Minear.
Mary Hancocks Minears Marriage is on FreeREG no Father named and she is a minor.
Do you have her in 1841/1851 Census as she is not with Jane and Siblings?
Edwards 1832 Baptism has Father Williams Occp as a Hatter.
I cant find a Bapt or a GRO Birth Reg for Marian/Mary Ann Minear c 1840 at all.

Thank you Trish
I am sure the name is Minear.
It becomes complicated.
In 1841 I think it might be her a servant with William Davey at Treleavans Cross Lane but recorded as Mary Hancock.
In 1851 still with Davey family at Union Rd Charlestown as a servant aged 17.
By 1861 she is married to William H Harry living next door to Davey family in Union Rd.
I agree that at time of Edwards baptism , William was a hatter.
In 1827 at bpt. of son George he was a victualler.
The Royal Cornwall Gazette of 24 March 1832 reports the death of William Minear aged 31 of Ring of Bells Tavern , consistant with him being a victualler.
Pigots Directory has William Minear at Ring of Bells Tavern.

And the 1841

Thank you BumbleB and Gadget.
Certainly Menear but noticed son George bpt 1827 absent 1851 as he married Mary Martin Hore in 1849.
William the father died 1832.
I still need to find bpt Maryann C1840 and confirm Mary Hancock Minear bpt 1834 is base daughter of Jane, servant with Davey family 1841 and 1851, shown as Mary Hancock.
I am not aware of a Hancock connection.

This is the only Mary Ann/Marion Minear (and alternatives) showing in the Cornish online records circa 1840:
Maryann Minear
Bapt 1st Jan 1837 St Austell
Father - Thomas Minear
Mother - Elizabeth

I had found Mary as Hancock in 1851 Lazarus but thanks for the 1841 for her.
Yes I agree with everyone the 1841/1851 has Minear not Mincer as transcribed.
You probably have Mary Ann 1840, a a visitor with William Minear and Family in 1861 Census.
I see Williams Wife was Rebecca Hore (Hone on FreeBMD 1854)
