Thanks Lily M. Can stop beating my head looking for living children. By heck there were a lot of John and Ann Sharps.
-
Wrong one then?
-
Overlook that last comment. I now see what you mean. Right woman - no children.
-
Nooooo but on a slower read Sarah is a new face. Her brother was Joseph Heywood Wright
Boy am I lost now.
AND I should add his son was Joseph Heywood Wright. Which there should be a law against

I LOVE it when they name their son the same as dad,it ensures that you are definitely following the right line.

But this is nuts. He was meant to have died aged less than 1 in 1833
And Joseph Snr lived with wife sophia Jane till the 1870's
I am actually getting a headache
-
A Joseph Heywood Wright did die age 1 in 1833.
But Joseph and Sophia named their next son b 1833,the same name as his brother ( and dad)
Baptised in Holborn on 24 Jul 1833.
-
Now thats determination! And should be illegal
-
I am still doing my head in trying to work out the relationship to all these people. I had assumed that the Elizabeth Heywood who married Richard Wright in 1796 was sister to William father of Joseph Benjamin, Thomas father in law to widowed Mary Sophia and Joseph whose widow Ellen died in 1844 as well. In 1841 you have Ellen Heywood 80, Ann Sharp 65, Sophia Wright 30 and Joseph Heywood 40 all in the same house. I had assumed that Joseph Heywood was actually Joseph Heywood Wright. Perhaps Elizabeth was just a cousin ???
-
I made a mistake.
You've probably worked this out for yourself by now, but just to confirm - the Joseph Byron and Mr. Heywood at the beginning of the Will, is actually just one person - Mr Joseph Benjamin Heywood
-
;D No I hadn't. He is my 3 great grandfather. When I said it was giving me a headache , it literally did and have only recently emerged from sleeping it off after a serious dose of prescription pain killers. Stuggling with a marriage for a Joseph and Sarah. The only likely Sarah I can see in 1841 in Greater London is with a younger Caroline. That will has thrown a serious spanner into my thinking
-
I have only recently connected the Wrights to the family and had pigeon holed Elizabeth as a younger sister to Joseph of Greenwich, William and wife Arrabella of London and Thomas of Plymouth..The Ellen they are living with in 1841 is Josephs widow and left a very helpful will

Did they have any children after 1838 after civil registration started?
You can use the GRO site https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/Login.asp to find mum's maiden name.
I hope you're joking about it naming your child after one who died should be illegal,as my husband was named after his 9 month old baby brother who died just 18 months before he was born, and very proud of it he is too,as it was their Irish grandfather's name.
-
No I was joking. Just makes watching the dates down to the day so much more exacting.

Joseph Heywood Wright married Sophia Jane Pitt on 04 Aug 1831 at St Bride's Church Fleet Street.
Witnesses were Mark Pitt and Mary Pitt.Everyone signed.
-
Thank you. The Pitts and Wrights were Law Stationers together Sophia's parents were Mark and Sophia Jane
