Hi all,
I have some of my family who lived in Heigham (Norwich) and wonder if anyone has knowledge of the PRs for the above two (2) churches. They don't appear on F/Search nor can I find them on Anc..y
Some of the family were bapt. in Norwich St.Giles (1837,39 & 40) after which I believe they moved to Distillory Street, Norwich and had more children there (using BMD).
Any help most appreciated.

Hi all,
Thank you all for the info supplied. I already had the names of 7 children taken mainly from the census returns but you have added some extra ones not known previously;
Mary Rebecca died 1840
Frederick Richard 1838
James Walter 1836
Emma Gray m Edwin Artis 1873 in St.Phillips church, Heigham and my g/mother Ethel Artis mar. William Ribbans in St.Thomas's church, Heigham.
Its these registers I'm interested in to try and get more detail but it appears they are not available
or have been lost/destroyed. I even can't find any BTs for these parishes.

Not much help to you in Adelaide. ;)
Norfolk Record Office holds the Parish Registers for Heigham.
see http://www.archives.norfolk.gov.uk/view/NCC154771

From NFHS
2 Nov 1873
Edwin Artis, 26, single, Jewler , St Philip, Francis Artis, Baker
Emma Gray, 17, single, ........, St Philip, Alfred Gray, Fish Salesman
both signed. Witnesses Alfred Gray & Emma Gray both signed
Can't work this out! has she given her brothers name instead of her fathers?
-
Hi Yokel,
Yes - you are correct. In fact she was not even 17 but just over 15 years when married being born 6-2-1858. She listed her brother instead of her father.
Emma had her first child Norris in Mar. 1874 which probably is the reason neither her father of mother attended the wedding.
Thanks for the list of registers. I wonder why St.Phillips & St.Thomas' registers have not been put on the IGI, as most of Norfolk are showing.

Hi amondg,
Forgot to follow up your kind reply;
Inscription

Do you know if there are any photographs of the headstones for this cemetery or where they can be obtained. Also where did you get the inscriptions from?

Transcriptions by the Norfolk Family History Society.
They do not have photographs, perhaps a rootschat participant lives near the Earlham Cemtery you have the coordinates and plot number.
