Hello you clever people!
I am going round in circles, trying to find info on Holly Hill Farm,Boughton,or Blean as sometimes known.I have John and Mary Downs living there on the 1911 census. I would like to know if it was being farmed then, and any names of people living there since and any general knowledge.
Many thanks.
Carol.

Holly Hill House, Dawes Rd, Denstroude,
Put that into your search engine and that might be your answer, it's in the correct area. Link is too long to put on here, sorry.

The map shows Holly Hill Rd very close to it. Looks like the right place. The road goes into Blean Wood. From the satellite view maybe some farm buildings there. ;D

Hello medpat
Thanks for prompt reply! But I would like to confirm the Downs family living there on the 1911census and any body else and info. I know what it is like now.
Thank you
Carol.

We can't give information from the 1911, but you can see for yourself who was living there in 1911 on Familysearch

Hi Groom.
Thankyou, I didn't realise 1911was "secret squirrel "
Carol.

Ps
Groom, is it possible to find out who lived there without any names?
Thanks.
-
When are you actually looking for? If it's 1911 that link I gave you will tell you who is there - John and Mary, a nephew and a grandson.
-
I am looking for names of people who have lived there, and if it has always been farmed. I stumbled across Mary and John Downs,so am using them as a starting point.
Thanks.
Carol.

William Charles Hicks, Holly Hill Farm, Blean, was involved in a dangerous driving case as a witness in September 1939.

Top of the hill.
Thankyou very much!, that's the info I'm after. I don't think the driving has improved much round there. Where do you all find these gems of history knowledge?
Thanks Carol.

Given the date he should be in the 1939 register, but at the moment I can’t find him!

Thanks for info groom, I'm grateful for anything.

It was a report in the local paper. (Findmypast)
