Hi,
I am hoping someone can help me find the above who was married to Joseph Henry Druce (1866-1924). I have info her husband travelled on a number of ships after 1901 possibly as a cook or butcher and eventually dies in 1924 in Australia but I cannot find anything on Mary after 1901. Did she travel with her husband and settle in Australia or did he die accidentally before he could get back to her or did he leave her. Mary and Joseph are relatives of my husband and I would love to give him an answer for his family tree.
Thanks in advance
Sally

Hi
Thanks for the welcome
I found all the children separately in the 1911 census Nila and Winifred are servants at different places and Evelyn is in school but can't find out if it is a boarding school or workhouse school as there was no address I could find??

There's a passenger list for Nita Druce waitress age 34 but in 1928 Montreal to London.
Baptism 13 Sep 1893 shows Nita Mary

I see Winifred married in Canada so maybe Mary went there too :-\

Evelyn is in an orphanage so maybe Mary has died.

The death of Mary Druce is recorded in the death indexes for St Helier between 1906 and 1908. The entry is on page 17 and is under both Druce and Kenealy, which explains why Evelyn is in the Industrial School for Girls in Grouville on the 1911.

Hi,
Sorry if I seem a little thick but I cannot find the death indexes you mention. Can you tell me where to look please as I am looking everywhere I can think of, not too good at this.

Sorry, my fault, unless you have a subscription to the Jersey Archive site you won't find the indexes on-line. All it is is a list of the names of people who died in St Helier between given dates, there is no further information. You can work out roughly when she died by the page number as there are usually 100 pages per register and this one starts in Feb 1906 so her death would have been about March or April 1906.

This is the information that was given when Mary Kenealy's death was registered (from the Jersey Registry Office)
18th June 1906 at 19 Dumaresq Street
Mary Kenealy, wife of Joseph Henry Druce, aged 39 years and 6 months, cause of death Phtisie (TB).
The death was registered by Amelia Eager of 19 Dumaresq Street who was present at the death.
