Title: Francis Graham LLOYD......seeking information.
Post by: minniehaha on Wednesday 18 October 17 23:31 BST (UK)
Francis Graham LLOYD was mentioned as a friend, "of 58 Fleet Street" in the will of my ancestor, John Hammond GALBRAITH.

The will was executed in 1920 and J. H. Galbraith died in London in 1921.

I have found this 1890 item in 'The Sydney Morning Herald'....

Hello Carole & Ian,

Thank you both.

That certainly appears to be the correct family in the 1871 census. It also explains what I thought might be an Australian connection, with one child having been born there.

Recorded here as being an Australian merchant & Shipping Agent, B. S. Lloyd's company is reported in the 1890 newspaper item as being agent for 'The Sydney Morning Herald'. Another string to his bow, perhaps?

Can his death be found?

Benjamin Smith LLOYD was in Sydney during the 1840s. Married Mary BOURNE there in 1847.

BSL had a brother George Alfred also in Australia. His brother in law with him in 1871 was born in New South Wales
