I am researching Minnie May Easton born Bengal, India, 31 January 1896.
1st marriage to Edwin Adolphus Nierses 11 February 1914 Asonsol, Bengal.
Divorced.
2nd marriage to Frederick Charles Welch 23 July 1924, Calcutta, Bengal.
Minnie died 6 October 1966, buried Perth, Australia War Cemetery, why?
Frederick Charles Welch died 17 November 1965, no mention of War Cemetery!
Both are on a grave marker together.
Minnie's parents were father born Cambridge, England and mother County Durham, England.
Was Frederick Charles originally an Australian?

There is a programme of renewal at Karrakatta Cemetery. I was given photographs of my distant rellies headstone and grave which were taken by admin, prior to the removal. I will check my map to see if the WELCH grave was in that area of the Anglican section.

To be fair to the Billion Graves website....nowhere on the page for Minnie is noted War Cemetery. Only notes her entry as Karrakatta and gives the GPS and map. Of course I may have missed it and admit I often do....put it down to my age :-X I am actually a contributor/member of Find a Grave and Billion Graves so am quite familiar with the layouts etc. I visited the page and turned the image of Minnie and Charles' headstone so it was easier to read and added Minnie's former married and maiden names.

Rachael Rebecca Nierses was born 16 January 1908, bap 31 January 1908 both at Jamalpur, Bengal. Father Charles Alfred Nierses and mother Lisette Agnes Nierses. Rachael married 1937 at Delhi, India James Henry Burchell. I could not find any relationship but they were all Armenians, mostly in Calcutta, India (pre-partition) which was at Independence in 1947.
Jacob Catchic Nierces is the beginning of the line for my research on this line. Scroll down on the link below to find Nierses.

Thank you Jamjar.
Since there is an interest in the Nierses name only three Nierses of this line have been found by me in England. Terrance Eustace Nierses, and his sister Phoebe Estelle Nierses (Mrs Gordon Oliver Kerr) and the mother of the above Mabel Blanche Stark (Mrs William Arratoon Nierses). Widow Mabel died Hammersmith area, London (possibly Shepherds Bush), abt June 1937 and Mr and Mrs Kerr both died in England 1981. All were born in India except for Gordon Kerr.
