Title: William Presby COMPLETED
Post by: SBib on Friday 20 October 17 07:11 BST (UK)
FamilySearch shows William Presby and wife Hannah living at Ashley St, West Derby, Liverpool in 1861. I strongly suspect Presby is Bibby and Ashley St is Ashby St.
Is the writing not clear?

I think you're right - although the "i" has not been dotted.  And the street is Ashley Street - the Enumerator loops "l" but not "b".

Ancestry, by the way, have transcribed the surname as "Bobby"  :)

Looking at the image I would agree.   Tried to post an image with this reply but one of the boards that doesn't have this facility

Kay

Added -F M P transcribes William as Bibby but his wife and daughter as Presby

That clinches it for me.
Thank you  :)
