Title: Bowden Family Of Solicitors
Post by: George Shaw on Sunday 22 October 17 10:54 BST (UK)
Am researching various families connected with Leigh in Lancashire roughly between the dates 1850 and 1950. They are families Eckersley, Shaw, Anderton and Lecomber. The reason I've posted this here is because they all have close personal/business connections with a family of solicitors who emanated from the Hayfield/ New Mills area of Derbyshire, the family Bowden. Joseph Rose Bowden [1869-1930] and his son, John Hadfield Bowden [1899-1988] both traded under the style Boddington, Jordan and Bowden. I'd welcome any information you may have particularly how the Bowdens first became associated with said Leigh connected families.
