Title: Thomas, Mary and Mary Ann Davies 1861
Post by: roycymru on Sunday 22 October 17 15:22 BST (UK)
Hello

Trying to find the above in the 1861 census with no luck. Can find them in 1871 and 1881, see RG10/5378/4 p2 and RG11/5295/118 p51

Hoping someone with better skills than mine can.

Thank you

Most of the 1861 for Wales is missing.

Although there are chunks missing. In theory they should be somewhere in Mountain Ash/Llanwonno/Merthyr Tydfil area of Glamorganshire and I don't believe these are missing. The missing for Glamorganshire, according to Find My Past, are:

4041   Glamorganshire   Cardiff   St Nicholas (3)   Welsh St Donats   I
4077   Glamorganshire   Bridgend   Bridgend (3)   Ewenny   I
4077   Glamorganshire   Bridgend   Bridgend (3)   Merthyr Mawr   I
4078   Glamorganshire   Bridgend   Bridgend (3)   Laleston   I

The Merthyr Telegraph & General Advertiser for the Iron Trades of Wales, 29 Jun 1867, has an item about a "Thomas Davies, Cabinet Maker, Cap Coch" being fined 10 bob for tipping rubbish.

Nothing else to identify him as "your" Thomas.
