Welcome to RootsChat! ;D
Apparently Ancestry has Madeira Baptisms, 1538-1911?
They are from Arquivo Regional da Madeira.
Not that I can find any of your people?
I even tried the Portuguese spelling of Silvestre.
I am guessing, from the forenames, that they weren't native to Madeira, or Portugal?

Hi,
Sorry very new to this - are you saying that the Silvester's are from Arquivo Regional da Madeira?
And that I should search Madeira Baptisms?
Thank you so much

Arquivo Regional de Madeira is the Madeira Regional Archives! ;D
That's where Ancestry got their records.

Thank you - I will definitely check it out.

Hi
Sorry I didnt see part of your message.
I dont know if they were from Portugal.
My Grandmother Violet Sarah Silvester told us that her family was in South Africa and then went to Portugal for a while. She was born whilst there. They then returned to South Africa.
Thank so much
