Hi all, I think I know what this says but it would be great to have someone else's eyes on it just to confirm.

Top witness is John Bryning but I'm after the bottom one.

Thanks both. Pretty certain it's Houghton. I thought Ellen too, but Elisa would also make sense. Will just have to have a look at the original next time I'm at the archives.

My first impression was Clara. Having read others' thoughts, I agree that Ellen is a better match.
