Title: Mary Jane Dixon 1853 - 1880? Newcastle

Mary Jane Dixon married John Tweddell in 3rd 1/4 1880 in Gateshead.
She gave birth to their daughter Emily Jane in Dec 1880.  I understand that she died during childbirth but I can not find her death anywhere.
In the 1881 census John is listed as a widower living with his mother and his daughter in Gateshead.
Any help would be appreciated.

I think you have the wrong marriage/mother. According to the gro index the mother's maiden name for Emily Jane was McCulloch. John Tweddell married Emily McCulloch in Newcastle on Tyne in 1879. Death for Emily Tweddell age 24 in Gateshead March quarter 1881.

Emily Jane's birth on GRO has her mother's maiden name as  McCulloch  ???

Does seem as if I got the wrong marriage then.  I am interested in the Tweddell/Tweddle/Tweadel etc. line.
Emily Jane Tweddell later married a William Ions. She was killed in a motor vehicle accident years later.

ps: the other family you mentioned, I don't think they are directly connected (there is no Robert in my tree)
